St. Kizito Children's Programme

Every child is my child

About

St. Kizito Children’s Programme (St. Kizito) is a community-based response to the needs of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). SKCP operates as a movement and is currently active in a number of disadvantaged communities in and around Cape Town.

The movement is a response to the Church’s call to reach out to those in need and forms part of the Pastoral Outreach of the Archdiocese of Cape Town. St. Kizito establishes groups of volunteers at Catholic Parishes in target communities, and these Parish Groups identify orphans and vulnerable children in their communities and respond to their needs. The Parish Groups receive training and on-going mentoring and support from the St Kizito office.

Although an outreach of the Catholic Church, St. Kizito embraces children from all sectors of the community, irrespective of their religious affiliation

Services

St. Kizito and our trained members help to establish St. Kizito Parish Groups at Parishes in target communities.
Parish Groups are trained in various modules, which cover a variety of relevant topics. The aim is to equip members to identify and address the needs of orphans and vulnerable children, as well as their families and greater communities.
